“The Well Tree works its magic through allegory, a thoughtful parable that winds its way into the deep heart space, where songs resonate with emotional velocity. Through its singing, we feel and know that the path toward global healing can and should be filled with beautiful reflection, joyful tears, creative action and love for the living planet. Like a fleeting dream of a long-lost connection, The Well Tree embeds itself into the subconscious and won’t let go.”

Join Heartwood Trio for an all-ages, participatory journey through story and song that audiences are calling a deeply visceral experience of beauty, joy, truth and imagination. The Well Tree is a three-person musical, illustrated with a ‘crankie’ - an illuminated, papercut, hand-cranked scroll. It is an original 'singing story' about wild journeying and remembering kinship -- the tale of a young woman moving beyond the fog of isolation and shame to meet songbirds, snails and ancient trees as she travels through these unraveling times, finding her way home. The three members of Heartwood – Heidi Wilson, Sarina Partridge, and Willy Clemetson – are the actors, musicians and the crew that runs the crankie, created by papercut artist Jennifer Jones – and the audience will be invited in to help sing pieces of the story. Let your body be filled with the magic of vocal harmony and live storytelling!
