Harvest Fest: The Well Tree Soundtrack Release Party!
This celebratory evening will include:
* Live performances of a selection of songs from ‘The Well Tree’ featuring the full recording ensemble: Heartwood on vocals, banjo, guitar, fiddle and drums; Moon Clemetson on piano; and Olivia Diercks and Karla Peters of The OK Factor on cello and violin
* Potluck Harvest Fest: let’s get festive and share in the bounty of the season! If you are able please bring some snacks to share: tiny buns, pies, etc!
* Hot off the presses….A chance to pick up your soundtrack and/or prints if you pre-ordered physical copies in our spring fundraising campaign! You could also buy more if you feel so inspired.
Water Ingathering Service
First Unitarian Society is excited to host Heartwood and The OK Factor for a special Water Ingathering service on Sunday, September 13th at 10:30am. The service will feature a collection of new songs that were written for this occasion by Heartwood during a songwriting residency in May, and will be premiered at this music-filled Sunday led by new minister Rev. Chad Snyder. Free and open to all!
Heartwood Song Circle
Join Heartwood for a Wednesday night song circle at Wolfe Park in St. Louis Park in the West shelter at 7:00pm. Please bring a chair, blanket, or whatever you need to be comfy. $5-15 suggested donation.
Directions: The address (3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park, MN 55416) will take you to the parking lot by the rec center. You will need to walk over the bridge to the other side of the park. You can also park on the south side of the park for a closer walk.
Heartwood At Fest Du Nord
Heartwood will be among many rad musicians performing at this family music festival at gorgeous Camp du Nord over Labor Day weekend! We will perform The Well Tree Friday night, Sept. 4th, and lead community singing somewhere in there too! You can stay in their cabins and get a pass for the whole weekend, or also camp there/ elsewhere and get a day pass.
The Well Tree in Philly
Join Heartwood for an all-ages, participatory journey through story and song. The Well Tree is a three-person musical, illustrated with a ‘crankie’—an illuminated, papercut, hand-cranked scroll. It is an original ‘singing story’ about a young woman moving beyond the fog of isolation and shame to meet songbirds, snails, and ancient trees as she finds her way home.
TICKETS – Tickets are FREE and seating is limited. Please register to reserve tickets. This is part of an afternoon of events, including a seed-planting with Robin Wall Kimmerer’s “Plant, Baby, Plant!”

All ages and all voices are welcome and needed!
Things to bring:
- Bring your own floor seating if possible (blanket/ cushion/ back-jack type chair) and if the weather's nice, we may be outside (may want a sun hat, etc)
- Bring a little snack or box of tea to share if you can, and your own mug/ hot cup if possible ☕️ 🍪
